Keep It Classical Ep. 006 – More Than Just a Concertmaster

gabriel-lefkowitz-2Gabriel Lefkowitz, only 28 years old, has been the concertmaster for the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra since 2011. Gabe sits down with me and discusses how he got interested in music and the violin. He talks about how his first gig out of grad school, the Star Wars Concert Tour, landed him his current job here in Knoxville. He also explains what led to his success as a concertmaster at such a young age as well as the role the concertmaster plays within the orchestra. Gabe is the face of the KSO Concertmaster Series, Gabriel Lefkowitz and Friends and a composer of video game scores.

You can learn more about Gabe at his website www.gabriellefkowitz.com. You can also check out Gabe’s original music on his SoundCloud page.

  1. Kevin!

Don’t cut your podcasts!! I just started listening to your podcasts, and I really enjoy all the info. You’re a lovely host, and the people you have been interviewing that I’ve heard are worth an hour or more.

    Thanks for being here.
